Narek Malyan gets interrogated on the alleged death threat

Narek Malyan, the leader of "VETO" social-political movement, was summoned to the Investigative Committee of the RA on the case of threat of murder on the basis of the report of Lara Aharonyan, the head of the Women's Resource Center NGO.

It was stated by Narek Malyan In the conversation with "Factinfo". He noted that due to the prohibition of disclosure of the preliminary investigation secret, he could not report details.

“I can say that the case was initiated on the threat of murder. The complainant is Lara Aharonyan, and I was interrogated as a suspect, that is, a witness, but I was clarified the rights and responsibilities of the suspect. I had the right not to testify, which an ordinary witness does not possess,” said Narek Malyan, adding that he did not refuse to testify. Narek Malyan said he had no idea what the matter was and had never threatened to kill anyone. “I've never seen Lara Aharonyan personally. Surely this is the 100th encroachment against my public activity, but there is nothing new. Just another slander through which the sorosists try to bring me to responsibility, which they have failed up to date.

Even more serious reports have been filed against me, like getting someone to commit suicide. And what not. There are even civic reports, again exclusively by the sorosists, there was an attack by a hooligan group. All of this is solely related to my public activity”.

Narek Malyan did not rule out the possibility of being involved as a defendant given the fact that he was questioned on suspicion. "I think everything is possible - my status may change, I may become a defendant, I may be arrested on this case. Everything is possible. I don't rule out anything,” said Narek Malyan.

According to him there is one goal- to make him keep silence. “In order to make me stop my disgraceful revelations about the foreign agent network in Armenia, which will never happen. It will only happen if I am imprisoned.

From that moment on I will stop my public activity, will write a book in prison and let it be the problem of the society. If hooligans, murderers, terrorists are to be in freedom and I am to be in prison, then I’m sorry it’s the problem of this society being sick.

It should be noted that “VETO” social-political movement fights against the activities of the “Open Society Foundations-Armenia” or the Soros Fund in Armenia.

Narek Malyan announced that today he will visit the Investigative Committee of the RA for the 100th jubilee time and will celebrate his 100th visit to law enforcement officials.

Surrounded by “VETO” members, Malyan made his way to interrogation with a champagne, a cake and in a festive mood.
